Michael Jibson

Michael Jibson's recent West End theatre credits include playing the lead role of Joe Casey in the Madness musical Our House at The Cambridge Theatre in London.

Michael was born in Hull. Raised in Hessle (just outside Hull) eldest of two brothers, Michael has been performing from an early age. He joined the National Youth Music Theatre and then went on to continue his training at Guildford School of Acting. Whilst at college, Michael played Man 2 in Songs For a New World and Gideon in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

Theatre credits include Theo in Pippin at The Bridewell Theatre, Dipper in Oliver! The London Palladium.

Roles for the National Youth Music Theatre include George Hastings in The Kissing Dance at the Royal Opera House Linbury Studio, Edinbirgh Festival and the Lyric Theatre, Charles in The Go Between at the Pleasance Theatre, Sesame in Tin Pan Ali, Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkaldy, Angelo in Bugsy Malone at the Queens Theatre, London.

Televison credits include Doug (lead) in English Goodbye a Tinderbox Production for BBC2, this film was chosen for the London Film Festival and The Berlin Film Festival. Television appearances with The National Youth Music Theatre include Blue Peter, Children in Need, The National Lottery Live, Good Stuff, Scratchy & Co and Theatreland.

Radio credits include BBC Radio 5 Live at the Fringe (solo performance).

Michael can be heard on the following cast albums, The Go Between, Bugsy Malone (NYMT) and Rock Nativity (written and produced by Tony Hatch in which Michael sang the lead role of Joseph).

Michael plays acoustic guitar and writes and performs his own material.
