Jake Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal made his stage debut in This Is Your Youth at The Garrick Theatre in London's West End. Jake Gyllenhaal began his acting career playing Danny Robbins in the popular early ’90s film City Slickers. His career continued to unfold with a role in A Dangerous Woman in 1993 and that same year playing Leon in Josh and S.A.M. After taking a break for schooling Jake waited until 1998 to continue in film, starring in Homegrown. The following year marked his breakthrough performance as a star of October Sky directed by Joe Johnston and also starring Chris Owen, William Lee Scott and Laura Dern. The role earned him a Young Star Award, as well as a nomination for Best Actor at the Young Artist Awards. Jake followed this with performances in 2001 including the title role in Donnie Darko, (Independent Spirit Award, Best Actor), also starring Drew Barrymore, Jena Malone and Noah Wyle, the title role in Touchstone’s Bubble Boy starring alongside Swoosie Kurtz and Marley Shelton, Lovely and Amazing with Catherine Keener and Brenda Blethyn and Highway directed by James Cox (V) alongside Selma Blair and Danny Comden. Jake can be seen in The Good Girl playing opposite Jennifer Aniston and in Goodbye Hello opposite Dustin Hoffman and Susan Sarandon. | |
