Peter Bishop
Peter Bishop recently played the role of Caractucus Potts during certain performances of the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. Peter is native Australian and trained at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney and the National Theatre Ballet in Melbourne before joining the Australian Opera Company and the Sydney Dance Company. His Australian performances include - La Traviata; Aida; Adriana Lecouvreur; Trial by Jury; The Merry Widow; and leading roles in Oklahoma!; The Sound of Music; Fiddler on the Roof; Evita and Camelot. Here in Britain, Peter appeared in A Step in Time as Alan opposite Bonnie Langford; Godspell playing Jesus; and many West End productions including Frank in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers; The Slavemaster and cover Raoul in the original cast of The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty's); Asher and cover to Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium); cover for Bobby in Crazy for You (Prince Edward); Jesus Christ Superstar (Lyceum) and Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium). Peter's television credits include - Families (Carlton); several episodes of Cobblers (BBC) and The Sullivans and Bishop to Knight (Australian TV). He has also spent some time in Sweden where he recently played the narrator in a major production of A Christmas Carol in Stockholm. Most recently Peter returned to the West End production of Cats (New London), having previously played the part of Munkustrap there and in the first national tour. | |
